Mad Gamer Dad Moment

We've been reading Dr. Suess to the wee one, including The Zax. One night while reading it I stopped, looked at Rachel and said "if this were a LARP it would take about 5 minutes for South Going to tell North Going to kneel down for a minute so he could step over him and they'd both be on their way, neither moving an inch to the west or the east. They would reach the far walls of the room and then expect the GM to give them their next problem after they effortlessly solved the one that was supposed to keep them occupied all night."
Obviously I GM too much, but it's true: players seldom invest so much pig headed stubbornness into a means of solving a problem as they do the need to actually solve the problem.
