We had out first session last weekend, and behind the cut you'll find some descriptions of the PCs

Rachel is playing Daisy Fontane, the fifth year prefect who is overseeing the female Ravenclaw first years. Daisy is intelligent and strong willed, but not overly ambitious or brave. She's also rather straight laced and responsible, with a strong skill at charms and a serious lack of skill with brooms. Daisy and her sister Jasmyn are the children of a Muggle/Wizard entertainer pair who spend much of their time traveling the world. Therefore Daisy is equally at home in Diagon Alley or a bazaar in Cairo or on Newbury Street in Boston. She has spent time seeing divinations performed across the world and therefore has called out Trelawney as the big old fraud that she is, earning that teacher's ill will. Her advanced studies classes are Ancient Runes and Muggle Studies.

[profile] evynrudeis playing Jasmyn Fontane, Daisy's first year sister. Jasmyn is cute, brave, ambitious, brilliant, graceful and has the attention span of a ferret on pixie sticks. (Evynrude used the rolling rather than point method and rolled very well.) Like her sister she is well traveled, and unlike her sister she is a bit of an imp, which has forced Daisy to look after her on four continents. Jasmyn has not yet learned the value of silence or patience, so  she has mouth that only stops makiing noise when she's asleep - unless she snores, which she might. Jasmyn was just sorted in Ravenclaw.

ESC is playing Juliet Moore. Juliet is smart, determined and diminuitive. Her mother was a tropical zooligist who was recently killed by a lethifold. That has left her father, a banker, at a loss, and he is compensating by giving Juliet the best in everything and fretting over her dreadfully. Since this is very different than his previous behavior it's not helping Juliet's psyche, which runs from being painfully shy to lashing out in anger if anyone insults anything about her mixed blood hufflepuff mother. While Jasmyn's forward nature originally drove Juliet deeper into her shell, she has latched on to the more confident and outgoing girl as her best friend and voice - just as well, as jasmyn speaks enough for both of them. Juliet is also mildly claustrophobic and has a natural talent for musical magic - just to her dismay this materialized during her singing of the school anthem, drawing all eyes on the school to her. She is likely to join the school chorus in hopes of being able to both sing and hide in the crowd. She was just sorted into Ravenclaw.

Cambias is playing Castor Dee, twin brother to [profile] ladegard's Pollux. The boys are identical in appearance and size (both are small for their age), but Castor reflexively disdains anything that Pollux is good at. Castor is the "Smart" one and was sorted into Ravneclaw, seeing little to no point in school politics. He also thinks that his parents favor his brother. Pollux was the "Ambitious" one and more ready to put himself forward and draw accolades from teachers. Much to his - and many other people's - surprise he was sorted into Hufflepuff rather than Slytherin. While Pollux doesn't understand this yet, it is because their father, a Slytherin, instilled his sons with very strong senses of duty and responsibility, favored by Hufflepuff.

Their father never had any truck with the dark arts and now serves as a representative on the Wizengamot, trying the Death Eaters being captured after Voldemort's disappearance (this take place 1 year after Voldemort failed to kill the infant Harry Potter). Castor has a pet owl - Yorick - and Pollux a pet cat - Bess -  and that cat is very likely an illegal, dangerous, endangered or otherwise supernatural creature sold off to the Dees moments before Professor Kettleburn arrived to do an audit of the shop. Bess is very smart, slate grey and the size of a large Maine Coon or small lynx.

Finally, Jason is playing Lochland Fitztoggle, a huge lad from an old scottish wizarding family that has seen better times. Since Jason wasn't at the game all we really know about Lochland is that he's very large, amiable, loyal and sorted into Hufflepuff.

I like the dynamic. Diasy's by the rules demeanor means that the mischievous first years can do all the boys own adventure story things without her dominating with her superior skills, as she'll spend much of her time catching up with them. Rachel and Evynrude have an excellent dynamic for the sisters; it's harder to tell with Cambias and Ladegard, but I think part of that is that the twins are torn between fierce loyalty and intense competition, which balances out into a bit of a muddle. I'm very happy that after her initial shying away Juilet has latched onto Jasmyn as her social interlocutor, as it keeps the party together socially and gives the youngest player a bit of a support structure. I have complete faith in Jason's ability to slide into any group... once his schedule permits him to attend.

I just have to *grin*! I'm seriously enjoying Jasmyn, even if she drives everyone a bit mad. And you didn't mention Jasmyn's lovely pet, Willow the ferret.
