I have some thoughts I want to raise about my CT gaming group and the way the prospectus system we've been using has played out, but first I need to give a little background on what we were playing before the prospectus system came into play. As such, here was what we were gaming in thee days when vicious dictatorial GMs forced their will on the players, rather than our current enlightened method of the players picking the least repellent of evils.

1001 New York Nights, Season 1: 'New York State of Mind' for Feng Shui
The one that started it all! Rick Delaney and his fellow cops on the Chinatown Flying Squad have an tough job tracking down an extortionist ring targeting buildings across Chinatown. Add into this Rick looking for thee guy who gunned down his partner (on the day he was gonna retire!), body-guarding the occasional high profile celebrity and the mysteries that surround their seemingly ordinary new technical expert, and the phrase "China is Here" becomes inextricably linked with "May you live in interesting times".

This was our first game with this group, and it combined Hong Kong movie action with police work and hidden, conspiratorial weirdness.

Threads and Shadows for Call of Cthulhu
When a reporter friend of theirs goes missing a private investigator, EMT and teenage genius go looking for him, and find a lot more than they bargained for! Their slow unraveling of a hidden cult reveals conspiracies in the church, thee government, the Mafia and perhaps the universe itself. Can they learn enough of the truth to fight for life while holding on to their sanity…and their souls?

[livejournal.com profile] netcurmudgeon ran this contemporary horror game informed by the writings of H.P. Lovecraft. He also runs a more pulp-themed game in this setting's 1920s every Halloween.

The Russia Campaign, Book 1: The Apocalypse Tapestry for D&D 3E
Tolbek, the Boyar of the small town of Maksyn on the river between Chernigov & Kiev in the year of our lord 1450, has a problem: his father, the old boyar, was possessed of both a hidden fortune and a strange madness. Tolbek needs you to find the source of both beneath his father's long abandoned, burned and buried house. Tolbek will not pass along to his son the problems his father passed to him, not with the end of the world due to come in 42 years.

This was my second game for this group, and was designed as both a historical culture game and as a good old fashioned D&D Dungeon Crawl with secret doors, pit traps and 10 by 10 rooms with zombies guarding a chest.

More to follow on each of the prospectuses and what was chosen, but taking a look at these, they're all very GM directed tales - '1001 NYN' & 'Threads and Shadows' are both onionskins, '1001 NYN' and 'the Russia Campaign' both started as NPCs giving the PCs orders and/or direction. This focus is all to the good for getting the group focused for our monthly 6 hour game slots, but has an impact later on.
