We have had more sessions of the Emirikol game - in which much swashbuckling occurred - and I apologize for not getting around to the write ups. Summer, don'tchaknow. 

In any event, I am now doubling back on my previous plans for the game - while the PCs will hit 6th or 7th level by the end of the year (averaging a level up every other session) - I do intend to continue the game past that point. There might be some juggling of the rules to include something like a dodge-based AC bonus equal to one half your Base Attack Bonus to explain away the lack of everyone wearing +5 studded leather, but everyone is having too much fun with the characters and the setting to stop now. 

The other backtrack is that prestige classes are coming in to play. Tom's PCs is already heading for the Paladin prestige class, but I've modified the Arcane Archer class from the DMG into an Arcane Duelist to give Bec's sorcerer somewhere to go. Having Cybele settle there after 6th level is a big help: too ,much higher magic and the game would lose it's swashbuckling, three musketeers feel. 

For anyone who'se interested, the Arcane Duelist stats are

Prerequistes: +3 BAB; Concentration 8; Combat Casting; ability to cast 2nd level arcane spells; the spell & feat combination of your style (Academy = Expertise + Spellcraft 8; Ferrantino = Improved Unarmed Strike + Balance 5; Canal = Precision Attack + Bluff 5; Florian = Weapon Focus + Intimidate 5)

Skill Points 6 per level

Skills: Alchemy, Balance, Concentration, Craft, Intimidate, Jump, Know (Arcana), Profession, Scry, Spellcraft, Tumble

Level 1:
* Enchant Blade - any blade you hold gains a +1 enhancement bonus. This increases by +1 for every 2 Arcane Duelist levels (+2 at 3rd, etc.) until a +5 at 9th level
* Spellcaster levels: levels in Arcane Duelist count as spellcaster levels for the purposes of determining a spells power, but not for spells known or spells per day. 
* Somatic Bladework: any somatic components can be made even with a weapon (or shield) in both hands.

Level 2
* Bladetouch: any touch base spells can be carried by your blade. If the touch attack also hits as a regular attack, add the weapon damage as well. 

Level 3
Enchanted blade increases to +2

Level 5
Enchanted blade in increases to +3

Level 6
* Ethereal Blade: Once per day you may launch a melee attack against any target you know to be in range. This ignores cover, concealment, invisibility and armor, but still must be rolled normally. 

Level 7
Enchanted Blade increases to +4

Level 9
Enchanted Blade increases to +5

Level 10: Bladestorm: you may use the Whirlwind attack feat once per day with no prerequisites.
