The episode opens with an aerial shot of Yale, tracking down - almost like an we're searching for something - across the quad and into one of the buildings. Our view settles on a 15 year old Roger Frost, who was just returned to civilization ten days ago after being raised by the Inuit. At his side is Leet, his faithful Husky companion, a mere pup at 1 year old. The two are hot (even in early October) and Frost is clearly uncomfortable in his suit and tie. Frost sits at the door to Dr. Watkin's office, awaiting his fate.
As the deans shape Frost's future, several doors down Doris Grey listens to her elders discuss her future: Helena Snow, the artist who took Doris after her dismissal from her last post, is again in the office of Edwin Winterbourne, her watcher and a visiting lecturer in English Literature at Yale, going hammer and tongs about the state of Doris' education and her future as a Slayer. Doris, profoundly embarrassed by all this fuss distracts herself by continuing to unpack Edwin's office in her role as his domestic. When Helena dismisses Edwin's claim of the Watcher's centuries of tradition as being proof that they haven't had a new idea in hundreds of years Doris interjects with a weak "Tea?"
Edwin removes his spectacles to rub his eyes "Yes, Doris, some tea would be lovely." Doris vacates the room bustling down towards the galley where she might get tea. Along the way she spies Roger & Leet and is taken in with the animal's beauty and the young man's obvious discomfiture. "What a lovely… I've never seen a wolf before."
"You haven't now either," Roger replies with a dry humor. "She's a husky. Say hello Leet." The dog lets herself be pet and scratched behind the ears, telling Frost that she quite likes this new girl. Frost, admitting that Doris fails as an Inuit beauty, finds her engaging as well, and they share a quiet conversation before Doris continues her quest for tea. Once inside the kitchen she is cornered by another servant with questions about Frost - the girl produces a paper with the headline "Local Millionaire Raised by Wolves." More than a little surprised, Doris nonetheless continues with her plan to bring Frost & Leet some water, but picks out better dishes. Roger is grateful for her kindness but their conversation is cut short by Roger being called in to the office.
