That would one shot explain his iterest in the poor Princess condition and his position in the court. I can imagine king Glamorgam sitting at his sleeping daughteer's bedside, talking to the air year ftr year and having the bed monster start sympatizing with him. Eventually the two of themm are sharing drinks and playing cards next to her bed during his monthly visits... Let me know if that works for you.
