Today is my wife's birthday, and for years she has lamented the lack of real Mission Impossible - the TV shows rather than the Tom Cruise movies that totally subvert the team espionage, enemy never knows your there concept. Fortunately a few months back Paramount told Tom Cruise to go packing, and with him gone his blocking the release of the TV series (that would have shown his films for the shallow things they are) also went poof. Hence Season 1 on MI went on Sale on 12/5. Just in time for the aforementioned birthday.
Hooray! Episode one opens with all the classics - stealing nuclear warheads from a Caribbean nation that looks suspiciously like Cuba, someone pulling off a full face rubber mask and Barney, the first recorded appearance of the Ubiquitous Black Engineer in Hollywood. Much fun in the early AM.
