47) Driving Mr. Albert - a trip across America with Einstein's brain: (Reread) Machael Paterniti's odd road trip in the 90's, I pulled this off the shelf to act as a buffer between Moosepath league books. It's an interesting read, full of odd characters, brain facts and Einstein facts. There's a strong urge to make the post-war Einstein as smart as Hoover feared - with the plots of atomic ray guns and the like - and then have him accept Ben-Gurion's pro-forma offer of becoming the first presiden tof Isreal as part of the back story of my new supers world. (votes from the players?) I mentioned the year above because it's been some 15 years since Paterniti and Dr. Harvey made the trip and the book now has the curous feeling of being a cultural artifact.

48) The Masque of the Black Tulip: Lauden Willig's second installment fo the Pink Carnation series, this one was not as good as the first. Not just because the past era characters were repeatedly lack-witted in their hunt for the foul French spy stalking London, but because we keep seeing snippits of the actual Pink Carnation in Paris, who is so much damn cooler than the central characters that you just want to abandon them and follow the person who knows what they're doing. I'll likely soldier on with the 3rd and 4th books, which I have been assured are better and have more of the Carnation in them, but I understand why Kriz1818 dropped the series after this one.
