Granted, but on the other hand, it's not the case that my departure from the conventional model is a move in the same direction as the Forge games seem to be headed in, but to a lesser degree. Rather, it's a move in a different direction. Whether it's a shorter move depends, as with any collapse of a vector space into a scalar (that is, a one-dimensional spectrum), on how you weight the different components of the vector; but in any case, if you accept that game design is multidimensional, questions of which direction of radicalism are of interest independent of questions of how much radicalism.
