Cutting it close
Jan. 20th, 2008 07:03 pmThe first session of Hufflepuff & Ravenclaw is next Sunday, so I finally got the basic rules packet out to the players this afternoon. Not as much lead time as I had hoped, and doubly embarrassing because the system is pretty much what I hacked out on vacation last December. So the players now have a week to come up with rough character concepts.

evynrudewill be making up theirs on Saturday night, but we know that they're playing siblings- Rachel the older sister and prefect, evynrude the first year. Rachel is contemplating her character crafting music based on astronomical and magical principles. Evynrude' character will probably join the dramaturgy club ($). Both are, as of this writing, Ravenclaws
ladegard and Cambias are identical twin male first years, one a Hufflepuff, one a Ravenclaw. I don't know much about them other than that. Little Miss Cambias (LMC) will also be a Ravenclaw first years, and a girl. Other than that, she's a blank as well.
Finally, Jason has expressed an interest either being a huge, amiable "force of nature" or a sullen pureblood who doesn't want to go to school when he knows he's destined to be a rock and roll guitar god. Which means the wizards have rock and roll, apparently. In any event, he's a Hufflepuff first year. Then there's poor40yearsagotoday, who gave this game a 0 in December because he had never read the books, and has since flown through them all in a week. He has offered to play someone's renegade house elf. The mind shies away from the concept as a sanity defense mechanism.
We'll see how it plays out next Sunday.
