Solidarity!
Nov. 5th, 2007 08:46 pm The Screen Writers Guild went on strike today. As a Narrativist GM, in solidarity I will only be using the game plots I already had planned out. Those should last us through January. If the strike is ongoing, I promise a series of half baked single session games with no narrative arc.
What? You mean I was going to do that anyway to deal with the reign of the newborns? OK, so, ya got me.
One side effect of the 1988 writers strike was the revamping of older TV shows that the studios could mine for scripts. Were it not for the '88 strike we might not have had Star Trek TNG, or the new Mission Impossible. Given that in the 80s' the mined shows from the 60's, what show's from the 60's might they mine for the 80's?
My guesses? Expect a new Knight Rider, a new Love Boat, a new Fantasy Island and possibly a new A-Team. What are your guesses?
