Currently, I'm reading Interstellar Pig. I read a cool article that will be printed in an upcoming issue of The New York Review of Science Fiction about the Count of Monte Cristo as a superhero. I may need to reread the Dumas book, and I think the translation in the house is likely to be better than the one I read in high school (although I did make sure to get one that was a 1500 page unabridged, as opposed to the 300 page abridged).
I liked When the King Comes Home. Is it a sequel or a prequel to College of Magics? I also enjoyed Stevermer's The Serpent's Egg. Nevertheless, I think she's got trouble with her endings.
