Well, I'm not about to scream at you.... Personally I'd rather than Republicans with your mind and temperment were _more_ active in hopes of forcing discussions and preventing the sense of certainty that comes with everyone you know agreeing with you. This is easy for me to say, of course - I might feel differently if I moved to Oaklahoma. I do run into it at business meetings: being a billion dollar business in a unionized field the upper levels of my company are not exactly Democratic bastions.
One of our friends is the daughter of a Weslean professor and I have problems being around her parents because they are so insufferably self rightous in their Democraticness. George Will once defined a liberal Democrat assomeone who espouses diversity but never anctually talks to someone with a different opinion. This is equally true of the other side, of course, but pithy as it is it doesn't solve any problems.
