Outcome of the voting

Unlike previous rounds of votings where I've had ties or other indecisive results, the voting on this prospectus was perfectly clear.

Sktarsis  New Dawn   Islands   Gunners  Egraine
[livejournal.com profile] kriz1818      3                3                    2               4               2
[livejournal.com profile] ctwriter         4                3                     1              2               4
[livejournal.com profile] ashacat        3                3                    3               3               3
[livejournal.com profile] taichigeek    3                4                    3               2               1
john                     1                3                    2               4              1

Once I discounted everything that someone rated a 1 I was left with New Dawn and Gunner's Company. Between those, New Dawn had more 2 more total points (19 to 17) and had no one rate it less than a 3. That makes it a no brainer.

As usual the voting shows some interesting things about the player group. The men were not enthused about Egraine. Interestingly, Kriz1818 liked the concept but not the system, which I'm curious about since she seemed to enjoy last summer's Doris the Vampire Slayer one shot.

I had specifcally designed a Buffy setting because it was the closest I could come to Taichigeek 's stated preference for a horror game that turned out well with effort. Shows what I know, since he lowballed it.

I know that both Ctwriter and evynrude didn't want to deal with the politics of Islands - I'm not sure why they were both so enthused about Sktarsis or Egraine.

I know that John nixed Sktarsis because he didn't like the modern elements intruding into his fantasy (you got your trout in my peanut butter!)

If any of my players reading this want to enlighten me on their reasons I'd love to hear it.

I'd forgotten about Doris the Vampire Slayer, actually. That did sort of overcome my reservations about a system based on a wildly popular TV show that I've watched maybe (part of) one episode of (though I like the movie a lot).

If I'd remembered it, I probably would've rated that one higher - not that doing so would've helped it win, in the circumstances!
