Down the Rabbit Hole
My hopes of getting more Emirikol written up today were shattered by a sudden influx of real work; I am trying to get everything written up before this Saturday's game.
Dennis Kucinich, who is trying the second time for the presidency and who is my candidate of choice to tell people to not ask when they aks me who I'm supporting in '08 (as Kucinich has made some frankly, well, wacko statements over the years and likely needs a tin-foil hat to ward off the orbital mind control rays), got married last year to a woman 20 years his junior. He was unmarried in his '04 run and one campaign stunt was setting him up on dates to help select the next first lady. Based on the synopsis of their courtship on his web site the two of them seem like a good fit.
She is also a bit of a looker, and politics being politics her images are getting a little more play on the Kucinich website.

The Washington Post's political gossip blog makes some comments about her looks, her new visibility & the age difference, and one of the readers responded with this little bit of vitriol:
Let me guess -- this is the beginning of the foundation for making the case that it's OK for Fred Thompson to have a glamourous young second wife should he start parading her around campaign events in his presidential bid.
You may be earning money from WAPO but it's pretty clear who you're actually working for.
Will quit reading you from this point forward. Worthless waste of time.
Now I have to wonder: How far down the conspiracy theory rabbit hole do you have to have gone to assume that the gossip column of the Washington Post - not really known as being a house organ for the GOP - is actually carrying water for a republican candidate who has not yet declared his candidacy by laying the groundwork for the radical concept that a Hollywood actor might have a trophy wife? I mean, when do you get that caught up in the idea that the political machine is in control of everything?
The anonymous poster probably passed my main man Kucinich on the way down and swiped his tin foil hat for good measure.
In any event, congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Kucinich. Many happy returns.
